Introduction: Overview of Networking; Communications Model; ISO-OSI Reference Model; TCP/IP Suite.
Application Layer: HTTP, FTP, SMTP, POP, IMAP and DNS.
Transport Layer: Services and Protocols; Multiplexing/Demultiplexing; Connectionless Transfer: UDP; Connection-Oriented Transfer: TCP; Segment structure, Reliable Data Transfer, Flow Control, Connection Setup Management.
Network Layer: Services: IPv4 vs. IPv6; Fragmentation; Mobility.
Data Link Layer: Services; Multiple Access protocols; LAN addresses and ARP; Ethernet, Intermediate Systems; Wi-Fi; PPP, Error Detection and Correction.
Network Design: Subnetting, NAT, Proxy and Firewalling.
